Accessibility
Every effort has been made to make this site fully accessible for all users. Each page has been built in accordance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) of the World Wide Web Consortium Web Accessibility Initiative (W3C WAI).
Some of the basic accessibility requirements are:
- All images have descriptive alt attributes. Decorative images with no meaning have empty alt attributes. Title attributes are added to links if the link text or image alt attribute doesn't clearly describe the link.
- Style sheets are used instead of tables for the layout of this site. When tables are used for their intended purpose (tabular data), labels and associate headers with their respective rows and columns are used to accommodate screen reader users.
- Forms have labels, fieldsets and legends which also aid screen reader users.
Access Keys
Access keys are keyboard shortcuts that allow users to jump to specific content. These can be useful for users who have difficulty using a mouse or other pointing device.
The access keys for this site are:
- 0 = Link to accessibility page
- 1 = Link to home page
- 2 = Skip to content
- 3 = Link to site map
To use access keys on Windows, press the "Alt" key and the relevant access key at the same time. You may also need to press the "Enter" key afterwards on older versions of Internet Explorer.
To use access keys on a Mac, press the "Ctrl" key and the relevant access key at the same time.
Scalable Text
The style sheets on this site use relative font sizes to allow users to resize the displayed text size. This may be preferable to using the above alternative style sheets.
Users can usually alter the text size in their browser by selecting the "View" menu, followed by "Text Size" and the relevant option.
Alternative Style Sheets
Several alternative style sheets have been created to help make the content of this site easier to view.
Click on the following links to switch the look and feel for the whole site:
You can return to this page and choose another style, or revert to the default style, at any time.
If no styles are displayed (e.g. because your browser doesn't support style sheets or because of an error when loading the page), the content of this site is still readable and clearly structured.
